Pinot Noir, of Burgundian origin, is the only red grape variety whose cultivation is authorized in Alsace. Primarily intended for the development of light and fruity wines, Pinot Noir is always vinified in red, taking up the ancient Alsatian wine tradition. Widely present in the AOC Alsace, it is also used for the production of rosé wines.
